Construction

Foil free edge tapes offer a film/film/foil construction with a wider, thicker top film layer which overlaps the foil, providing non-conductive, foil free edges.

Standard foil free edge laminates are constructed with aluminum foil and polyester film.

Foil free film edge provides isolation between pairs, preventing shield-to-shield shorts and eliminating the need for a polyester overwrap.

Saves cost by eliminating the need to inventory two varieties of tape.

Selecting the product that's right for you:

Foil free edge tapes are differentiated primarily by the thicknesses of the films. Thicker film substrates allow for higher dielectric and tensile strengths.
Each tape may be specified with foil free edges on one or both sides of varying widths.
